The Perfect September Wedding at The Ivory Barn

From the very first time I met Meghan and Mason for their engagement session in downtown Charlotte, I knew their wedding day would be one of my favorites to capture. They’re the kind of couple you instantly feel like friends with—laidback and just plain fun to be around. Their September wedding at The Ivory Barn in North Carolina was exactly that.

With a majority of guests traveling in from Louisiana, the reception was full of high-energy moments, dancing, and non-stop celebration. Their classic blue and white color palette paired beautifully with the elegance of The Ivory Barn, and this sunny fall day couldn't have come together better.

The day started by photographing Meghan and Mason’s wedding details—rings, invitations, florals, and special keepsakes. The blue and white color scheme tied everything together, from the custom stationery to the floral arrangements. Flatlay photos are easily one of my favorite parts of the wedding day, creatively capturing those little details you’ll want to remember forever!

The Ivory Barn is a stunning North Carolina barn wedding venue with whitewashed walls, natural wood beams, and plenty of natural light. Meghan and Mason’s decor embraced the venue’s bright and airy feel, with crisp white linens, soft blue accents, and complimentary greenery. Every detail—from the table settings to the ceremony arch—reflected their elegant yet relaxed style.

One of the most special parts of any wedding day is the getting ready time. Meghan got ready with her bridesmaids in The Ivory Barn’s bridal suite, sharing laughter and toasts before getting into her dress. Mason spent the morning with his groomsmen, keeping things lighthearted and spending the final pre-ceremony moments with his mom and doing a first look with Meghan.

The ceremony took place under The Ivory Barn’s beautiful outdoor arbor, framed by greenery and florals in shades of white and soft blue. With perfect September weather and a gentle breeze, the setting was perfect. Meghan and Mason exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends—a moment full of love and joy.

After the ceremony, we took portraits with Meghan and Mason’s wedding party. The bridesmaids looked stunning in light blue dresses, while the groomsmen kept it classic in navy suits. Their fun-loving energy made these portraits a blast to capture, with plenty of laughter and candid moments in between the posed shots.

The Ivory Barn offers so many beautiful backdrops for portraits—open fields, rustic barn doors, and charming whitewashed walls. Meghan and Mason were naturals in front of the camera, and their ease around one another made my job easy.

If there’s one thing Meghan and Mason’s wedding guests knew how to do, it was party. With a majority traveling from Louisiana, the dance floor stayed packed all night. From lively toasts to intense dance-offs, the reception was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. The energy, laughter, and celebration were contagious, making this one of the most memorable receptions I’ve photographed at The Ivory Barn.

Meghan and Mason’s wedding was everything a wedding should be—full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. The Ivory Barn provided the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance, while their friends and family brought the celebration to life.

If you’re planning a wedding in North Carolina, I’d love to help you capture your day in a way that feels as joyful and authentic as Meghan and Mason’s!
