Thanks so much for being here! My name is Emma Blue and I am a portrait photographer based in Raleigh, NC.
Growing up one of my favorite things to do was pull one of the many large photo albums off our living room bookshelf and spend hours reminiscing all of our cherished family memories. As I flipped through the pages I was reminded of special moments, inside jokes, and places that were meaningful to me. Time has flown by way too fast, but I am thankful that whenever I want to travel back to those moments, I can always grab a cup of coffee, find a cozy spot on my parent's couch, and take a long trip down memory lane.
Family photos have become particularly special to me as my husband and I welcomed our baby boy in November 2025. My passion for family photography and eye for the shots taken have grown greatly as I personally have experienced moments as a mother that I want to remember forever. As a family photographer, it is my goal to create an enjoyable, personalized experience that captures the little moments that mean the most to you.

STORY SESSIONS
I don't believe your favorite family photos happen when everyone is standing perfectly still and smiling at the camera.

I believe they happen when your daughter insists on wearing fairy wings every time she leaves the house, when dad agrees to push the swing one more time, or when everyone ends up laughing because the ice cream melts faster than expected!

Instead of asking your kids to perform, I build sessions around something your family genuinely loves doing.
​
We might grab ice cream at Howling Cow, have a backyard picnic, fly kites, or spend the morning making pancakes. Running and climbing highly encouraged - perfect behavior isn't part of the package!

DO YOU HELP US CHOOSE OUR LOCATION?
Yes! If you already have a meaningful place in mind, we'll start there. If not, I'm happy to suggest locations based on your family's personality and the kind of experience you're hoping for.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STORY SESSION AND A PORTRAIT SESSION?
Story Sessions are built around an activity or experience your family enjoys together. While I may provide gentle prompts, you will not be expect to stand still and smile at the camera for the majority of the time. Portrait Sessions are shorter and focused on creating beautiful, posed portraits for milestones like maternity, Christmas cards, or annual family photos. We'll still capture candid moments along the way, but the session has a more traditional portrait focus.
DO YOU OFFER AT HOME NEWBORN SESSIONS?
I don't currently offer traditional in-home lifestyle newborn sessions.
Instead, I specialize in outdoor family photography and would love to photograph your family once you're ready to head outside for an adventure together!
