Charles Towne Landing
Located 15 minutes from downtown, Charles Towne Landing is the place to go if you are looking for a lowcountry, Spanish moss vibe. The site includes many scenic walking paths throughout the abundance of greenery. There are no fees specifically for photography at this location, but there is a $12 per person entrance fee.
Broad Street
Easily one of my favorites - Broad Street is a must if you are taking photos around downtown! This street captures many iconic backdrops to downtown Charleston and will often be seen in wedding, elopement, and engagement sessions shared online.
Cypress Gardens
Well known from The Notebook, Cypress Gardens is one of Charleston's most iconic photo locations. 45 minutes from downtown, this spot is a little bit of a drive, but well worth it! Similar to Charles Towne Landing, there is no photography fee needed, but you will need to pay $10 per person to get in. The boats are available on a first come, first serve basis, so make sure to account for that, especially on weekends.
Mills House
Not to be mistaken with Rainbow Row, Mills House is an additional location downtown that provides a fun, colorful backdrop! Whether you're there for the big pink wall or checkered floor, Mills House is a necessary stop for your downtown Charleston photoshoot.
Isle of Palms
For your typical beach photos, you can't go wrong with Isle of Palms! Located only 30 minutes from downtown, this spot is worth adding to your shoot for some fun variety!
Although I am based out of Raleigh, NC, I am often in Charleston for work and over the years have become very familiar with best photo locations! If you are interested in bringing me down to the lowcountry for your wedding, elopement or engagement I would love nothing more than to celebrate you!!
