Outer Banks Engagement Session | Josie + Cody

In August, I had the pleasure of traveling out to the Outer Banks for Josie and Cody’s engagement session. These two are from Pennsylvania and are planning an intimate microwedding in Corolla, NC next May. I’ll be joining them again to photograph their big day, and after this session, I already can’t wait!

The Outer Banks is such a peaceful place to photograph — the perfect mix of soft light, windblown dunes, and wide-open beach. Josie and Cody made it easy! They were easygoing, playful, and completely themselves in front of the camera.

Their wedding next spring will take place at a large beach house in Corolla surrounded by their closest friends and family — the perfect setting for an intimate celebration by the ocean. Sessions like this always remind me why I love documenting destination weddings. There’s something special about couples bringing the people they love to a place that feels a little like vacation, a little like home, and entirely their own.
