A Joyful Summer Wedding in Downtown Raleigh | Kyra & Caleb

Kyra and Caleb’s June wedding at their local church, Hosea, in downtown Raleigh was the perfect mix of intimacy, personal details, and big-party celebration energy. As a Raleigh-based, true-to-color wedding photographer, I had the joy of documenting their day from start to finish, and I’m excited to share a glimpse of it here.

Their day began with Kyra and her bridesmaids getting ready at a cozy Airbnb nearby while Caleb and the groomsmen prepared at his home in Holly Springs. Excitement filled the air as friends and family gathered at Hosea for the ceremony.

Their ceremony at Hosea was personal, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in faith. It wasn’t just about two people coming together, but about honoring God through their marriage and celebrating the covenant they were making before Him. Friends and family gathered in an atmosphere that created a meaningful foundation for the rest of the day.

After they exchanged vows, we took full advantage of Raleigh’s variety of backdrops for portraits. At Fred Fletcher Park, the greenery and golden summer light highlighted their olive, black, and white color palette, providing a timeless setting for family portraits, wedding party photos, and romantic bride and groom moments. To balance the natural elegance of the park, the groomsmen brought a modern, urban energy to their photos at The Dillon downtown, where the Raleigh skyline created a stunning backdrop.

The celebration continued back at Hosea for a lively reception. Kyra and Caleb’s large wedding party set the tone — joyful, supportive, and more than ready to celebrate the newlyweds. With heartfelt speeches and plenty of dancing, their reception was everything you hope for at a summer wedding. Raleigh gave us perfect weather for the occasion, which made documenting their day even more enjoyable.
